The Law Offices of Robert L. Siems was founded by Robert L. Siems, J.D., M.B.A., CPCU. Mr. Siems is an experienced and highly regarded insurance defense trial lawyer and litigation manager of major-exposure extra-contractual and bad faith cases.
Among many other high-profile positions, Mr. Siems served as an officer and claims counsel at USF&G and at St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, where he helped develop the companies’ legal teams and nationwide large-loss-exposure case- management programs. Mr. Siems was the primary architect of the extra-contractual and bad faith case-management programs for USF&G and St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company, where he managed all extra-contractual litigation. He was also claims counsel for the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) for both companies.
Mr. Siems received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, completed the Executive M.B.A. program at Loyola College, and holds a CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters) certification. Mr. Siems writes and lectures for the Defense Research Institute, the Maryland Association of Defense Trial Lawyers, the Maryland Institute of Continuing Programs for the Education of Lawyers (MICPEL), and the National Business Institute. He is a co-editor of the quarterly newsletter for the CPCU Society’s Information Technology Section, Cutting Edge. Mr. Siems also sits on the boards of directors of Hannah More School and the Maryland chapters of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the CPCU Society.
